What do you think?

  1. I understand patients wanting to tweet after their surgery to connect with others, but I feel that having surgeons tweet during surgery is taking technology a bit far.

  2. Although this may seem like an extreme case, I cant really see any significant difference between tweeting about surgery and tweeting about everyday life. Twitter appears to be founded on providing details about one's situation, and extending this to something as major as surgery almost makes sense: wouldn't it be much more interesting to read about a real time operation than someones boring day? With as much insipid information as people provide on places like facebook, choosing to disclose information as important as surgery if anything seems like an more appropriate use of this technology. Either that, or its just way too much information.

  3. I have to admit, at first I was going to post, "Now, I've heard everything", but after reading the article, I can see the validity in tweeting a surgical procedure. Something like this can be very beneficial to other surgeons or to patients who may have to undergo similar surgeries. It's definitely a sign of the times, and we have to keep up with technological advances. I think there should be some control as to who is able to read some of the information that is tweeted. Let's face it, there are a lot of young kids on twitter and surgical procedures can be way too graphic for them.
